Rock Kills Kid

February 18, 2006

NL: First off......so how do you like the weather out here in DC? Little different from the sun back in Los Angeles isn't it?

Jeff: Um...Its like winter and summer. Which one is it?
Reed: Its pretty Cold here.

NL: Jeff at first struggled to find his direction after highschool. While other kids where starting their full time jobs or heading off to college, he was spending hours writing songs. Most of these struggles are told in your songs, are they not? Also, what gave you the confidence to stick with the band thing and not go off and look to start a different career?

Jeff: Yeah, I was never really interested in business or anything like that. I was just interested in creating music and that's all I wanted to do.

NL: Tell us a little about the music scene out in L.A.?

Jeff: There's really only 3 things in LA. Actors, writers, and musicians. That's pretty much it.
Reed: LA has a plethora of Bands so it is easy to get lost.

NL: Are the radio stations supportive of local music (I see you've received some air play on KROQ)?

Jeff: It's hard to get on the Radio [in LA] but we had some luck.

NL: How's the current tour going? Electric 6 are pretty cool guys aren't they?

Jeff: Great band, they have a great stage presence.
Reed: Really cool guys.
Jeff: She Wants Revenge is awesome too.

NL: So your new single "Hide Away" was featured on the O.C. feb 2nd. How'd that get put together?

Jeff: I don't know I had nothing to do with the whole thing, but it was cool.

NL: Summer plans for the band?

Jeff: No plans yet, nothing booked. I'm sure we'll be busy though.
Reed: Beach and Babes.

NL: Anything to tell the kids at home?

Jeff: We'll be home soon and We miss you.

NL: Thanks and enjoy the show.
